Of course, none of us were waxing experts, but we were determined to find the best waxing salons in Ottawa, so we asked around and got recommendations from friends. We each tried different services—from chest to back waxing—and compared notes just for the fun of it.
Surprisingly, we were pretty impressed with our experience (even our girlfriends decided they’ll have it too). Now, we were able to compile a list of these waxing salons, so check them out and see which one you should try first!
How much does waxing cost in Ottawa?
In Ottawa, waxing prices typically range from $15 to $70, depending on the area being treated and the specific salon you choose.
For example, basic eyebrow waxing might be on the lower end of this range, while full-leg waxing would cost more.

Nova Wax Bar waxing services cater to both men and women, leaving us feeling comfortable in their establishment. Their offerings are standard—from facial and underarm treatments to bikini area and full leg waxing.
What we’re impressed with was that their staff members are great at making clients comfortable throughout the process, which is helpful because it can be nerve-wracking for first-timers.
This level of personalised attention truly made a difference in the experience, particularly with how Brenna, the owner, guided us from the initial consultation all the way through to after-care advice.
We also appreciate how Nova Wax Bar prioritises health precautions and hygiene, conveniently placing hand sanitising stations throughout the facility.
Now, while some of us felt that the space could feel a little cramped at times, the amenities such as free parking and the fast appointment process made our visit easier.

Tropical Gal is particularly known for their top three services: Brazilian sugaring, Brazilian waxing, and brow lamination, expertly performed by their team of seasoned aestheticians.
Now, during our visit, one of us decided to try their Brazilian sugaring since the promise of reduced hair growth and less discomfort compared to traditional waxing was intriguing.
We were impressed with how Tia explained its benefits and went the extra mile to make our friend feel comfortable.
This level of preparation helps lessen any first-time jitters, even for men (yes, they offer men’s waxing too!). So, gentlemen, you can say goodbye to that ‘bear rug’ and hello to ‘bare hug’!
The availability of after-care products for purchase at the salon is another thoughtful touch. For those interested in learning and DIY, Tropical Gal provides Brazilian waxing classes both online and in person, although you’ll need your own kit.
However, due to their popularity, it’s expected to face difficulty in booking appointments.

The Upkeep Shoppe offers a comprehensive range of waxing services, including underarms, chest, back, bikini, and full legs for both men and women. They even offer a convenient waxing 6-pack, where you pay for only 5 services but get 6—talk about value for money!
In addition to waxing, they also offer an array of other enticing spa services, such as facials and relaxation massages—a spot for a comprehensive self-care day.
We particularly love how clean and organised their place was; the relaxing ambiance is complemented with complimentary tea. The friendliness and accommodating nature of the staff made our visit even more delightful.
One downside we noted, though, is the salon’s penchant for advertising their in-house products a lot, which can feel overwhelming at times.
Also, the place is quite small, feeling somewhat crowded. Despite the minor drawbacks, their skills and dedication make them a solid choice.

We assessed Esthetics By Lucie’s services and were struck by the care they provide for both men and women. Their full range of waxing and sugaring options makes sure that whether you need a quick bikini line or the full Brazilian, they’ve got you covered.
All the staff members are great with what they do and how they approach clients, but the most standout is Lucie. As the owner, she also does follow-ups with clients post-service to ensure everything went smoothly and to educate them about proper aftercare.
Speaking of aftercare, they offer a range of products specifically designed for post-waxing use. Moreover, the place itself is a breath of fresh air—clean, well-lit, spacious, and has a relaxing ambiance.
We were also pleased to find student discounts and the flexibility of welcoming walk-ins. Additionally, their extended hours accommodate those needing late appointments.
However, their nail services are often hard to book, and the availability of nail technicians can be a bit hit-or-miss.

Even better, their waxing menu is comprehensive, offering everything from eyebrow waxing to full-body treatments.
A standout offering is their 3-week Brazilian package—treatments that are spaced out over three weeks, which helps maintain smooth and lasting results. This is also highly recommended by both the staff and regular clients we spoke with.
An added bonus is the ability to combine your waxing session with other services, such as eyelash extensions, permanent makeup, and teeth whitening.
Their space also comes to our attention—clean, organised, and enhanced by calming music that sets a relaxing tone from the moment you step in.
Although booking with them is easy, we noted that there can be a slight delay in starting times due to the slow cleaning time after each client. While this may cause a minor wait, it also demonstrates their commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
On the positive side, Beauty Time has a fantastic referral program, where you can enjoy exclusive discounts and benefits.
