We love Mr. Foundation for their impressive experience in foundation waterproofing. They’ve been serving Ottawa since 1992, and it’s easy to see how they managed to stay all these years.
They can handle anything regarding foundation, basement, and structural repairs and waterproofing. When we inquired, we learned how extensive their offerings are, which include sump pumps, humidity controls, and crawl space encapsulation.
Based on what we saw, they provide all the possible options so you can choose which one will suit your budget. Plus, they don’t skimp on giving out the pros and cons of each solution—that’s awesome customer service!
But during our client surveys, some felt the team could’ve been more transparent regarding mid-project changes. Although they’re not perfect in communication, we still appreciate that they try to fix whatever the problem is.
They’re closed on weekends, too, which slashes points for availability. The upside is that they can drop by as quickly as the next day.

Methodical in tracking down the source of the problem
“We had an excellent experience with Jim from Mr. Foundation. We had some water in the middle of the basement under a carpet. Jim arrived when he said he would. Upon arrival, he was very methodical in tracking down the source of the water, which he did in a few minutes. It was a leak from our furnace-mounted humidifier. As he was leaving, I inquired about paying him but he said they never charge for an initial inspection. I offered to compensate him for the drive out, but he wasn’t hearing any of it. So thanks for such a professional visit and I would not hesitate to call Mr. Foundation back again, if necessary.”
