No matter where you’re in the city, there’s an Altitude Gym nearby that’s ready for a climbing adventure!
How to Get to Altitude Gym
Closest bus stop: If you’re aiming for the Kanata spot, hop on OC Transpo’s Route 63 which will drop you practically at the doorstep on Palladium Drive.
If you’re driving, just take Highway 417 West and continue until you reach exit 138 for Palladium Drive; from there, it’s a quick drive to 501 Palladium Drive.
For the Orleans location, you can catch Route 39 to Vantage Drive, and you’re good to go. If Gatineau is your destination, take the STO bus service to Boulevard Saint-Raymond.
What to Do and See in Altitude Gym-Kanata

The Moonwall is another fantastic tool, offering a variety of routes to keep you challenged and engaged. In addition, don’t miss out on the unique training workshops or group sessions they might offer.
Challenge yourself with bouldering
– Media credit: altitudegym
Bouldering here is fantastic because whether you’re just starting out or you’re an advanced climber, there’s something for you. Routes are set up to cater to all skill levels, and they often change things up to keep it fresh and exciting.
The walls aren’t too high, so you don’t need ropes. Expect a good mix of problems to solve—from easy climbs to those that will really push your limits. There’s usually new routes that are regularly set up, so don’t miss those.
Climb the 30ft wall with auto-belay
– Media credit: gumbygoesup
This 30ft climb is perfect for those who want to go higher without requiring a partner to belay them. The auto-belay system will keep you safe, lowering you gently back down if you let go or fall.
This climb is fun and accessible—while the wall is tall and can seem intimidating, the auto-belay makes it doable. By the way, the routes on the 30ft wall vary in difficulty, so you’ll surely find something that suits you.
Plus, don’t miss out on the view from the top—it’s rewarding to see how far you’ve climbed.
Enjoy the family-friendly boulder section
– Media credit: altitudegym
Altitude Gym’s family-friendly boulder section is specifically designed to accommodate climbers of all ages and skill levels. The routes here are less intimidating, and there’s a great variety to keep both kids and parents entertained.
When you’re here, look out for special events or family days that might be happening. These events can be a fantastic addition to your visit and often include games or challenges that make the experience even more enjoyable.
Experience the augmented reality climbing wall
– Media credit: nicholasplacephoto
Now, you’ve got to try the augmented reality climbing wall. Basically, you’re climbing just like usual, but with challenges and games projected onto the wall itself.
It’s like stepping into a video game where you’re the main character, and it’s wildly addictive. This tech-infused experience is awesome for both kids and adults.
There are several games and modes you can try out, from chasing virtual targets to dodging obstacles. It’s a fantastic workout too because you’re so focused on the game, you might not even realise how much climbing you’re doing.
Test your skills on the Ninja Warrior course
– Media credit: altitudegym
For those who like a real challenge, the Ninja Warrior course is where you want to be. You’ve seen the show, eh? Well, now, you can test your skills on real obstacles like the Salmon Ladder, the Ring Slider, and the Unstable Bridge.
You’ll find that each part of the course offers a different challenge, whether you’re swinging, balancing, or climbing your way through. Best of all, it’s just plain fun!
Plus, the staff is always on hand to give tips or demonstrate techniques, so you’re never tackling the course without support.
