Emma WhiteSo, I recently got a new job, which I was super excited about—until I realised there was no one who would be home to hang out with my adorable dog. Enter my lifesaving neighbour, who casually mentioned dog daycare.
Intrigued but sceptical, I asked her more about it, and to my surprise, they really exist, even here in Ottawa. I tried the one my neighbour recommended and, eventually, more facilities, and loved everything about them—the place, the service, the treats and more to say!
Now, if you’re in the same fuzzy bind as I was, you have to check out the list of dog daycares in Ottawa that I’ve reviewed. These daycares will surely keep your furry friend entertained, happy, and tired out (in a good way!) while you’re away. Let’s get right into it!
How much does dog daycare cost in Ottawa?
In Ottawa, you can expect to pay between $20 and $80 for a full day of dog daycare.
This range generally includes basic care, socialisation, and some fun activities for your dog.Furthermore, boarding services typically cost about $50 per night, while private training can go $160 and above.

Furry Friends Spa and Daycare stands out with its spacious facility. It has a combined 1500 square feet of indoor and outdoor play areas, it provides ample space for pets!
Plus, it’s good to know that cameras are available at every corner and they even have a climate-controlled indoor section—maximum comfort no matter the weather!
Their grooming services stand out too, featuring a certified master groomer who attends to both dogs and cats. They even offer nail trims for small pets like rabbits and guinea pigs.
The clients we spoke with were gushing over the quality of services provided at Furry Friends Spa and Daycare. And, considering our experience, we couldn’t help but agree!
However, it’s worth noting that there is often a long wait time to join due to the facility being nearly always fully booked. On a positive note, they provide a multi-dog discount of 10%, adding value for those with more than one furry friend.

We love Happy Paws’s picturesque and secure setting, with its clean indoor facilities and a vast 150-foot-wide outdoor area.
A nice feature for new clients is the complimentary 10- to 15-minute meet-and-greet tour. This allowed us to observe how clean and well-maintained everything was and that they go beyond mere playtime.
From what we’ve seen, their attentive staff is focused on helping each dog enjoy daily “QT,” or quality time, which includes soothing belly rubs, gentle back and ear scratches, and more. Who wouldn’t love these?
We also like that the shop’s Facebook page is regularly updated with snapshots and videos of the dogs’ daily activities—it’s fun to get updates!
We’re just disappointed that they don’t offer boarding services. Additionally, their weekend closure might pose an inconvenience for some.

Bekkers Pet Care stands out with its expansive, fenced-in area—safety gets plus points in our books! Plus, the indoor facilities are thoughtfully equipped with radiant floor heating for the colder months and air conditioning during summer!
We also appreciate how fresh water is always available, treats are provided throughout the day, and the dogs get regular bathroom breaks.
Bekkers’ full-day daycare package is worth considering. This package allows for up to 10 hours of supervised play, with appealing discounted rates for families with multiple dogs. They also offer comprehensive boarding options for both dogs and cats.
Something else we want to highlight is the “get-to-know-you” chat for new clients. In this process, the staff carefully listens and takes notes of each owner’s request so their pet’s needs are met.
Just a heads-up: pet owners are required to bring their dog’s food. Also, Bekkers only accepts neutered or spayed dogs.

Hwy7 Pet Retreat mainly offers a comprehensive range of services, including boarding, dog daycare, and grooming, all within their impressive 6,000-square-foot, climate-controlled facility.
The property is secured with a 6-foot-high chain-linked fence and monitored by cameras 24/7—no doubt, a safe environment!
When we dropped by, the daycare team’s attentiveness stood out. When we spoke with the regulars, many praised the staff for being able to attend to the needs of each pet.
Meanwhile, the shop’s grooming service, aptly called “Le Spaw,” offers a range of treatments from simple grooming to special occasion haircuts. This is a convenient thing to have in the vicinity!
On the downside, we noted that Hw7 Pet Retreat needs to improve in its communication. Some clients noted slow or non-existent responses to phone enquiries and delays in email communication.
Despite these challenges, Hwy7 Pet Retreat remains a commendable option for pet owners due to their thorough care and extensive service offerings.

Dog World Bedrock Kennels boasts an impressive 50-acre facility featuring expansive grassy parks, a natural water park, and an inground pool—ideal for dogs who love to play and swim.
A standout, though, is that they offer hiking activities that help dogs expend excess energy—-this effectively reduces behavioural issues!
We were also delighted to discover how meticulously clean and well-maintained the entire facility is. The climate-controlled indoor play areas add another layer of comfort for the pets.
Another aspect worth highlighting is that the staff here aren’t just friendly—they’re also trained in standard canine first aid! They also provide private training sessions, including leash walking, swimming, and even treadmill exercises to cater to various needs.
A minor inconvenience that we must note is the early pick-up fee which some clients also complained about. Despite this, the comprehensive care and personalized attention each dog receives more than makes up for it.

They’re great at reporting any concerns to us when we pick him up as well. They are on top of vaccine records so we always feel safe sending him there. Our dog especially loves their pool in the summer! We’ll probably be using Dog World countless times in the future.”
